IFIM Law School

IFIM Law School is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University and is approved by the Bar Council of India. The Law School was a part of the illustrious IFIM Institutes which consists of the recently renames Jagadish Seth School of Management (JAGSOM) and IFIM College.

At IFIM Law School we have painstakingly created a curriculum that will educate students not only in law but prepare them for their legal careers. We believe in nurturing holistic, socially responsible and continuously employable legal professional. With interventions like Personality Enhancement Program, Research Incubation, Social Immersion Program, Industry Internship Programs amongst a few, we train our students and provide them with a platform to realise their potential.

Leadership

Prof. Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean, IFIM Law School

Padmanabha Ramanujam comes with extensive experience in the field of education with institutions like Jindal Global Law School and AURO University. He completed his LL.M. from University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK in Intellectual Property Rights. He received scholarships including the Norwich Law School Scholarship and won the Best International Applicant Award. He also has a Masters in Business Law from National Law School of India University. He completed his B.A.L., LL.B. from University Law College, Bangalore University.

He was a consulting advisor for Law School Admissions Council and was instrumental in designing 17 subject indicators to rate Universities and Colleges in India. He designed and developed of E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitisation (E-LEAD) indicators for assessing Universities commitment to e-learning. His extensive experience in academics includes working with organisations like AURO University and Jindal Global Law School.

He was among the scholars invited by the President of India to write a book on the Governance of Higher Education Institution which culminated in the book published by LexisNexis titled as “The President of India and the Governance of Higher Education Institutions". He specializes in law and economics, intellectual property law, competition law, economic analysis of tort law, and economic analysis of contract law.

Admission Process
  • Selection Criteria: LSAT—India, CLAT, ILAT followed by a personal interview.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Candidate should have passed +2/PUC or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks. 5% relaxation is given to SC/ST candidates. The study criteria should belong to 10/SSLC, +2/PUC pattern. The applicant who has passed the prescribed minimum qualification in single sitting examination without having basic qualification is not eligible for admission for 5 years BBA, LL.B. course.
    • Be or be less than twenty years in case of general category of applicants and less than twenty two years in the case of applicants from SC, ST and other backward communities as on May 15, 2021.
    • The applicants, who have passed the examination from any board of examination other than Karnataka State, shall apply for and obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the Karnataka State Law University, Hubli.
    • Must have qualified in any one of the entrance examinations, viz., CLAT, LSAT-India- India or ILAT (IFIM's Law Admission Test)
